I would like to bring to your attention to a Master’s Programme currently on offer at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.  The MSc in Psychiatric Research, for which I am Programme Director, is aimed at psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists and other mental health professionals interested in a career in research.  This course is designed to appeal to a range of UK and international students, from those interested in continued professional development to those wanting to pursue a PhD.

The aim of the MSc in Psychiatric Research is to provide advanced training in the scientific and ethical principles common to all mental health research disciplines, together with skills in statistics, epidemiology and both biological and social methodology. A wide variety of modules are available for study including: neuroimaging, neurochemistry, genetics, transcultural psychiatry, clinical trials, health policy, social psychiatry and brain-behaviour interface.

This course is designed to provide an in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge base to guide the practice and interpretation of research in the field of mental health. Our students are based in the Division of Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine where their individual research projects are supervised by active researchers.
